FAQ’s: What to expect PRIOR to a treatment? Dress comfortably preferably with loose clothing. Do not worry about coming in with clean skin nor hair. Stop all actives such as; retinols, AHA/BHA 72 hours prior to session. Do not wax 72 hours prior to facial. MEN; do not shave the day of your facial. No Botox or fillers 2 weeks prior to service. Most importantly you should come ready to receive and relax. What to expect AFTER a treatment? You may experience redness, tightness, flakiness and or/ sensitivity; this is all due to the exfoliation part— depending on the treatment plan. Avoid excessive sun exposure. NO excessive heat like sweating, saunas, jacuzzi or steam rooms. NO physical or chemical exfoliation for a week. NO waxing for up to 72 hours. If I have a special event, how soon should I start my treatments? Brides-to-be who want to see drastic change should start treatment plan ONE year prior to wedding. Do not receive facial 2-3 weeks prior to event as purging or peeling can be experienced after a facial. Treatments are recommended to start as soon as possible and preferably with proper home care to obtain real results. Will I break out after a treatment? You may experience little to none this may be due stimulation of cell turn over that can cause purging. How often should I be receiving treatments? In order to maximize results services should be performed every 4-6 weeks. What treatment is right for me? ALL treatments are safe and customized to each skin’s needs. If you are unsure as to which treatment to schedule ask for a free 10 min virtual consultation. How can I maintain results at home? In combination of staying consistent with treatments an appropriate home care regimen is HIGHLY recommended. Which products do you? At Glow Up Factory we used a variety of pharmaceutical grade level products such as; Glymed Plus, DMK, Skin Scriptx, Esthemax. Why can’t I use drugstore or OTC (over the counter) products? We don’t advice OTC products due to the counter interaction pharmaceutical grade level products may have with OTC products. This ensures real results are being managed and delivered appropriately and safely— something we can’t ensure when using OTC products. What is Dermaplane? A technique that helps remove excess dead skin build up as well as the removal of vellus hairs known as “peach fuzz” This treatment is safe for almost all skin conditions except; grade level 4 acne. What is a chemical peel? A peel is a chemical product applied to remove layers of dead skin. There is a variety of peels from mild to intense. What should I expect from a chemical peel? Depending on the depth of the chemical peel and the type of peel you may peel to some extent. What should I expect prior to a chemical peel? Appropriate skin preparation should be done minimum 2 weeks prior to chemical peel treatment. What should I expect after a chemical peel? Post care MUST be follow to ensure healing process is completed safely and no further damage can occur to the skin. What is the DMK treatment? Not your ordinary facial, we make a difference by doing things differently.  What is DMK Muscle Banding? Ageing is a result of a decline in skin functioning. DMK Muscle Banding is a technique used to lift, tone, and tighten the skin. It works by causing the muscles to contract, reinvigorating circulation, increasing amino acids, and restoring optimal function. It rebuilds a stronger healthier better functioning skin, stimulating collagen and elastin and strengthens the matrix, giving skin back its bounce. What is the difference between DMK Basic Facial vs. DMK Treatment? The DMK Basic Facial is an introductory facial for anyone looking to try out DMK but, is not ready to commit to the actual enzymatic treatment. Can I receive a treatment if I have a skin condition such as; eczema, rosacea, psoriasis? All facials are design and safe enough to perform on all skin concerns. However if you feel you might be allergic to a certain product or ingredient, a test patch can be performed 24 hour prior to session. Please consult with esthetician regarding any allergy concerns. What service is appropriate for my skin condition? All facials are customized to client’s skins needs however if you are unsure of what facial to schedule, please contact esthetician for a free 10 min-virtual consultation. Can I received a facial if I am getting treated for cancer or autoimmune conditions? As long as your oncologist or primary care providers states it is safe and there is no contraindications you may receive any facial. Please ensure you share any medications or changes to medical history if you are being seen for multiple treatments. What happens if I don’t show up to my appointment without notice? All services are subject to 100% service fee if you do a no-show/no-call. Can I reschedule same day? If you need to reschedule same day, you will be subject to 50% of the service fee. However, there may be exceptions based on the esthetician’s discretion. How many days do I have PRIOR to service to cancel/reschedule at NO FEE? You may cancel/reschedule 72 hours prior to session. Will I be charge for my service the day I book? No, only your deposit will be charge the day you book. The remainder is due the day of service. Is my deposit refundable? Your deposit is non-refundable however, it can be transferable ONE time if needing to reschedule. If you reschedule 2+ times, a NEW deposit will be required to rebook. If I can not make it, can someone else take my spot? Yes, if you know you can not make it and know someone who can replace your slot you may do so. This will be up to your discretion and not the estheticians duty to rebook your session. The client taking over the appointment must book for equal value of service previously booked. Where are you located? Glow Up Factory is located inside VILLAGE COURT. You can access us through the back of the plaza, where additional parking can be found. We are located behind Kumon Tutoring Center or Farmers Insurance on the 2nd floor.
